’Tis the season for brands to fill your feed with posts of the most giftable gear and gadgets of the year. And if you’re a food person (you’re here, so we’re betting you are), there are a few you’ve probably seen pop up again and again. Below you’ll find 27 food gifts we’ve had our eye on that we’re planning to give (or, in a few cases, hoping to receive ourselves) this year.

Artsy dinner plates from East Fork

On January 1 of this year, Henri Matisse’s artwork entered the public domain. It didn’t take long for his iconic nudes to (legally) end up on posters, T-shirts, and the like. But the best application we’ve seen so far comes from East Fork. The brand’s Matisse Collection is uniquely sentimental and significant because the renowned artist was the great-grandfather of East Fork’s founder. The handmade pottery also happens to make a beautiful canvas for the blue (er, Nu Bleu) designs. We’re especially drawn to the set of four dinner plates because at first glance, they look identical, but each features a slightly different silhouette. They’re almost too pretty to eat off of, which is why they make a great gift.

    A very cool chai collab

East Fork x Diaspora Spice Co. Chai Essentials Kit $84 East Fork

The folks at East Fork have been busy this year. In the fall, they partnered with Diaspora Spice Co. for a Masala Chai starter kit featuring a tin of Diaspora’s Masala Chai blend, a tin of Madhur Jaggery for sweetness, a stainless-steel sieve, and a limited-edition off-white East Fork Kulhad mug—all packaged together and ready to gift. Illustrated step-by-step instructions make it easy for anyone to get started with a chai ritual.

    A first-press olive oil

California Olive Ranch Olio Nuovo 2025 $29 California Olive Ranch

You’ll only find this extra-virgin olive oil once a year. It’s the “first press” of California Olive Ranch’s November harvest. Made from the freshest olives of the season, it's left unfiltered so the vibrant, peppery, grassy flavor really shines. Because it’s produced in extremely limited batches, it’s a perfect (and rare) gift for the EVOO lover in your life.

A Dutch oven that isn’t Le Creuset

This fall a post flew around the internet that claimed that Le Creuset is no longer cool, mostly due to the fact that some people have started collecting it for clout, often with no plans to actually use most of the pieces they buy. While we disagree (we'll be cooking in the colorful French cookware until we die) there are other heirloom quality enameled cast iron Dutch ovens that make great gifts too, and they're both from brands we trust. In our testing, Staub's cocotte actually outperformed Le Creuset's Signature Dutch oven by a hair, and we found Made In's to be a wonderful, comparatively affordable alternative to Le Creuset.

    Graphic and stylish tablecloth

This is a gift that commerce writer Wilder Davies got for himself, and highly recommends. “I have had a yen for this tablecloth for months now. Something about it being a bit of a contemporary riff on a classic buffalo check design. It’s so cool, and is going to look really nice in my apartment—not that that really matters to you. Hawkins has a lot of gorgeous and very on-trend table linens as well.”

A luxe hand soap for the kitchen

We've been buzzing about Naomi’s After-Cooking Hand Scrub since we tried it earlier this year. Designed especially for home cooks, it neutralizes cooking smells like garlic and onion with bread yeast enzymes, moisturizes with jojoba seed wax, and exfoliates with tiny beads of volcanic rock. The best part, however, is the subtle, luxurious notes of bergamot, black pepper, sandalwood, and ginger that linger on the skin. It's a perfect gift for home cooks who like high-end personal care products, but there's also a fragrance-free version for those who would rather not smell like they just washed their hands in a fancy hotel.

Ingredients to make any party feel fancy

Quince, the brand you likely know for making affordable dupes of items from well-known and trendy fashion brands, has steadily been increasing its offerings to become a one-stop shop. In November, the brand added gourmet food items to its shop: Dom Pérignon Champagne, Royal Osetra caviar, and Italian white truffles are now available.

And following with Quince's model of offering luxury items for less, the truffles and caviar are available for lower price tags than you'd see at specialty food stores. (The Dom is market price, but how convenient is it that you can buy your New Year's Eve party outfit and Champers with a single checkout?)

The best cookbooks of the year

We recently published our list of the best cookbooks of 2025, and any of these would make a great gift. Senior commerce editor Noah Kaufman's pick is Dad, What’s for Dinner?, who raves that the book “breezily moves between the delicious-but-functional weeknight necessities (a quick marinated grilled chicken) to the aspirational (raise your hand if you’re ready to make fresh pasta with your kids).”

    Something green

You might not want to slip a pack of vitamin gummies into just anyone's stocking, but we bet the wellness aficionado on your list will be pumped to try Grüns. These tasty gummies (for real, our commerce director loves the original flavor) are made with fruits and vegetables like kale, spinach, broccoli, apple, and dozens of others in order to provide a punch of nutrients that includes your complete daily recommended amount of vitamins A, C, D, and E, folate, and biotin, as well as a healthy helping of fiber, zinc, and iron.

    A truly nontoxic nonstick pan

The Misen carbon nonstick is the pan we can't stop talking about at the BA office. It has a nitrided carbon-steel surface that makes it super slick, corrosion-resistant, and a great alternative to conventional nonstick cookware. Unlike ceramic and PTFE nonstick pans, which wear with each use, this pan improves with each use. It's sold out repeatedly since it first dropped, so don't expect this stock to last. But even if you end up on the waitlist, it’s worth it.

A cutting board they'll have forever

    Boardsmith Maple End-Grain Cutting Board (12" x 18") $255 The Boardsmith

Boardsmith makes some of the most beautiful cutting boards you can buy without hiring a custom woodworker. This heavy-duty piece has been through months of daily use—well beyond our standard testing—and still shows almost no wear and only the faintest staining. As an end-grain board, it’s gentle on your knives, but the real magic is in the thoughtful design details. Senior commerce editor Noah Kaufman has been using it at home since June 2025, and he swears it’s the most stable board he’s ever cooked on, thanks to the grippy silicone-tipped feet that keep it locked in place. It’s the kind of heirloom-quality upgrade you’ll appreciate every single time you cook.

An electric kettle that elevates your tea game

Food director Chris Morocco is a longtime fan of Fellow’s kettles, and one in particular has achieved near–marital-peace status in his household. “My marriage nearly fell apart over the fact that I only had a gooseneck kettle in the house, which is ideal for pour-over coffee but annoying for tea because it dispenses so slowly,” he says. “So we got the Fellow Clyde kettle, and it is perfect for my wife's tea habit.” With its steady pour and precise temperature adjustment, it’s a foolproof gift for any serious tea drinker.

    For the knife enthusiast

This is one of those thoughtful gifts people rarely buy for themselves, but will be ecstatic to receive. If you’ve ever opened a relative’s kitchen drawer only to find gorgeous chef’s knives tossed in like loose change, you know the problem. A knife organizer solves it instantly. Whether you’re helping them streamline a chaotic drawer or finally retire that hulking countertop block, this simple upgrade makes everyday cooking safer, tidier, and a whole lot smoother.

Cooking shoes so cute they'll want to wear them outside

When we recently polled the BA staff for their favorite cooking shoes, a few themes came up again and again: closed-toe protection from rogue oil pops, reliable slip resistance, and—above all—comfort that lasts through hours on your feet. These editor-vetted picks deliver on all counts. They’re the pairs we actually wear daily in the kitchen, and they’ll help your giftee stop sacrificing their nicest socks to weeknight dinner prep.

    A stylish apron

Yes, you’ll see an apron on every food-centric gift guide—but there’s a reason. A great apron is one of the most hardworking tools in the kitchen. Our chef-approved favorites from Hedley & Bennet and White Bark Workware are stylish, sturdy, and surprisingly flattering, with fabrics that can survive even your messiest marinara escapades. It’s a practical upgrade that any home cook will appreciate the moment they tie it on.

    Stemless wine glasses

If your friend is still serving wine out of cute recycled jam jars, it might be time for an upgrade. These stemless tumblers from heritage glassware brand Riedel—credited with pioneering varietal-specific wine glasses—are an affordable, high-quality step up. The ultra-thin rim instantly elevates the drinking experience far beyond any mismatched Mason jar collection. In addition to red wine, Riedel also makes glasses for whites like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

    An all-in-one coffee station

Coffee maker brands have, increasingly, been cramming more and more brewing options into a single machine. And Ninja has found space for an extra option or two that has created a real “something for everyone” piece. The Ninja Cafe Premier looks like a lot of other espresso machines (and it’s certainly that), but it can also brew single cups of coffee in a whole batch of sizes and two different kinds of cold brew.

    Pamela Anderson’s Pickles

Pamela Anderson is having a moment, and though her love affair with Liam Neeson may or may not be legit, her pickles sure are. Anderson loves to garden, and a flair for fermentation runs in her family. So when she approached California-based lifestyle brand Flamingo Estate with the idea of packaging her Spicy Rose Dill Pickles, it was an easy yes. Less easy? Snagging a jar of these small-batch snacks while they’re in stock.

A countertop oven developed with Kenji López-Alt

DTC cookware brand Our Place entered the countertop appliance category a few years ago, and while its original Wonder Oven wasn’t the most high-tech option out there, it sure was the cutest. For the second iteration of the oven, the brand brought in the Internet’s favorite food nerd, chef and writer Kenji López Alt. The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro is a bigger, better oven with eight presets, a digital control panel, and López-Alt’s seal of approval.

    Compact and portable shopping tote

For your eco-conscious friend, Baggu makes the perfect stocking stuffer. For the uninitiated, Baggu makes stylish and highly functional bags in cute colors and prints. These shopping totes fold away into a compact wallet-sized pouch that easily fits in your purse (or even your back pocket). Senior commerce editor Olivia Tarantino is such a fan that she has three and keeps one each in her work bag, purse, and gym bag.

Nespresso, but make it single origin

Nespresso Vertuo Master Crafted Single Origins El Salvador Coffee Pods $15 Nespresso Nespresso Vertuo Single Origins Mexico Coffee Pods $15 Nespresso

When it comes to pod coffee, Nespresso is the best game in town. What could make those Nespresso capsules better? If you could start to get the kind of delicious, varied flavors that the best coffee roasters in the country have been working on for years. Now you can give that to your favorite Nespresso head in the form of the brand’s single origin series with picks from El Salvador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Colombia.

    Wicked fast digital thermometer

If you know someone who has been relying on an old analog meat thermometer from who knows when, it's time for an upgrade. We love the Typhur InstaProbe, which delivers fast, consistent readings—less than a second to get an accurate temperature. One of our favorite features is the built-in magnet, that lets you store it on the fridge instead of losing it in a drawer or pop it on the oven or grill while you're cooking.

A way to make any drink bubbly

Bubbles make almost every drink better (especially a bottle of bad rosé), and the Breville InFizz Fusion is a stylish, all-purpose sparkling beverage maker that will carbonate so much more than just water. Unlike straight-up soda makers, the InFizz fusion is indicated for wine, juice, and even cocktails. It also has a sleek stainless steel body and comes in a handful of tasteful finishes. Oh, and it just happens to have been chosen as one of the best new kitchen launches in our Gear of the Year Awards.

A sleek pair of kitchen shears

Material The Good Shears $35 Material

This pair of kitchen shears has been on senior commerce editor Olivia Tarantino’s wishlist for years. After months of being out of stock, they’re finally available again. Sure, they’re scissors at their core—but far from your average pair. The micro-serrated blades are ultra-sharp, making it easy to slice through tougher foods, like when you’re breaking down a whole chicken. They’re also perfect for snipping herbs straight into a pan (no cutting board required), trimming extra fat off a skirt steak, or, yes, opening that stubborn package of bacon.

A stand mixer you'll want to display on your counter

KitchenAid Artisan Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer with Walnut Wood Bowl $750 KitchenAid

A stand mixer with a walnut bowl might sound a bit extra, but that’s exactly why we love it. KitchenAid’s Design Series Stand Mixer, which dropped in a gorgeous evergreen shade last year, is back in a new pearly white that feels softer and warmer than the classic. It’s got all the power and reliability of the brand’s beloved Artisan line, just dressed up for the countertop. The wooden bowl does need a little TLC (you do have to dry and oil it after use), but that’s part of the charm if you bake for the joy of it.

    A truly portable pourover

MiiR Pourigami Collapsible Pour Over $30 Amazon

This compact, collapsible pourover from Miir is the perfect gift for the frequent flyer who wouldn’t dare drink anything from a hotel room coffee maker—or their parents’ crusty old Keurig machine. The simple design features three interlocking stainless steel panels that are slim enough to slip into a purse or carry-on bag. It’s a cool concept, and fun to put together on the go. For a more substantial gift, pair it with a pack of Miir filters and a bag of your favorite coffee.

The hottest coffee release of the year

OK, so it’s not technically ready to show up under the tree at this point, but Fellow’s Espresso Series 1 was one of the coolest appliances we’ve tried in years, and if you have a very special coffee drinker in your life, it’s definitely worth a pre-order (delivery is slated for early 2026). The Series 1 follows in the footsteps of Fellow’s terrific Aiden drip coffee maker that is both endlessly tweakable for the coffee nerd who needs the parameters of their brew just so, but also can be set to be so simple that, in the words of Fellow founder Jake Miller, his mom (who is very much not a coffee nerd) can make herself much better coffee in the morning too. The Series 1 offers both manual shot pulling, full of data on flow rate, water temperature, and the like, as well as one-button auto brewing that still produces cafe-quality espresso.

    And, of course, wine

Wine is an easy gift for anyone who partakes, and the new Bon Appétit Wine Shop makes it easier than ever to pick a gift-worthy red, white, or bubbly. You won’t find an overwhelming selection here because every bottle is handpicked by our editors or trusted wine experts. Cheers to that!
