Last night, the Red Sea International Film Festival brought the world’s film stars to Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia. Championing emerging local and international talents, the event saw actors and directors alike, from Kirsten Dunst to Jessica Alba, Sean Baker, and even Dakota Johnson, who lit the whole city up with her look.
Attending the opening ceremony, Johnson stepped out in a classic black evening gown with a cutout twist. Styled by Kate Young, the dynamic look was pulled from Alessandra Rich’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, which presented during London Fashion Week back in September. Constructed of a strapless bustier bodice with a plunging, deep V-neckline, it was equal parts elegance and daring—just what Johnson does best.

The skirt, a mid rise piece that created a sliver of exposed skin above, was topped with the perfect holiday detail: a festive bow, from which extra layers of fabric draped down to the hips and wrapped around the back for a ruched bustle—à la 19th century. Balancing out the V neckline above and playing with proportion and structure, the floor-length gown was finished with a thigh-high slit straight down the middle. As Johnson walked, in her high pointy heels, the hem kissed the red carpet.

While her full ensemble was a simple black hue, her jewelry added a dynamic glistening accent—stealing the show altogether. Dripping in diamonds, Johnson’s neck was adorned with a statement piece, constructed from dozens of teardrop diamonds linked together and falling from a central chain. She matched the necklace with coordinating earrings, designed with teardrops of their own.
